We have had 3 nights of constant fireworks that goes well into the early hours of the morning. This happens every year in our street, our pets are terrified and our section is littered with the rubbish created by the fireworks.

So many horses have died due to fireworks being thrown towards them. So many dogs have died in shock because of the loud bangs goinf over the houses and so many cats have dies being ran over to get away from the fireworks. Not to mention the wildlife out there on their own. People are sick to think it's fun to knock down an animal strap fireworks to them and set them off which results in death. Anyone who does those things to animals really do deserve a hanging.

Ban fireworks. Four nights of frightened pets and sleep deprived children who wake with every loud "bang". Why does our government allow these irresponsible people to play with explosives, year after year!?

Why is this country still indulging in a stupid celebration of a rerrorist plot that failed in england so many years ago? John key of all people should be the 1st to knock guy fawkes on the head considering he's all for removing the union jack from our flag. Or is there too much loot in taxes to be made for this limp wristed government to make a stand..

Public Fireworks should be banned in New Zealand, I have 3 animals and a young child that have been subjected to this years fireworks (2015) since Thursday 05 Nov. I have had enough of fireworks from 8.00 PM till well after 11.00 PM - 2.00 AM. The government needs to imposes financial penalties and a law against public fireworks after Nov 5.

We were staying in pauanui and some people threw a firework on top of our barbecue right on the other side of the wall where my 7 year old sister was sleeping

Just came back to live in NZ. Bloody stupid. They let them off in the day even. If at all should only be for a week during Guy Fawkes, between 8.30 and 10.30 then a bloody big fine otherwise

It's about time the government got some balls. Enough is enough - how much human, animal and property damage do we need to accumulate! it isn't meant to be a training ground for the fire service and emergency hospital departments! Happy to have organised public fireworks displays but they need to mean something. Get rid of Guy Fawkes in NZ!! it has nothing to do with our history

My two dogs have had over 7 days of being bombarded with explosions! We also are nervous wrecks these aren't ordinary fireworks they vibrate the house. What about the noise ebatement act? Or doesn't this matter as long as big money is been earned?

Ban them altogether i say. My animals and property were at risk again this year due to adults aiming them towards our property

I am so sick of signing these petitions and the government declining them! This is about the scared animals and the stupid kids who are getting hold of these. Their may be an age limit but its not stopping them from getting them. My dog cries in the corner so scared because people dont care. Yes they are stunning and I admit as a kid I loved them and still do but the amount of people I talk to say their animals are frightened too. It takes weeks for us to settle our dog back to his bed because he doesnt want to sleep alone. It should be a gold coin entry event only no more public sales!!!
