If only fireworks went off for one night!!! Im sick of people letting them off weeks after meanwile my poor animals are frightened!!!!

Why do we even need to celebrate such an archaic event in NZ?
Why waste money on fireworks when there is so much child poverty in NZ?
My animals (dog and 2 cats) hate the whole week that this event happens - they cower in corners, hide in wardrobes or under beds. Grow up you guys you need to get real and start thinking about all of the above!!!!

Main reasons are my dog, like many others, is petrified by fireworks & people do cruel things to animals with fireworks.

Please stop. I live In a rural area with horses, cows and dogs on my property and fireworks is becoming not only dangerous for my animals but also the safety of people trying to calm down the animals.

It's time to control fireworks well and truly. The poor animals; sometimes fireworks continue to go off around here for weeks. Too unsettling.
