People can't be considerate with them, we have 2 dogs and for several nights before Guy Fawkes and for 10 nights continuous we had them going off. We still haven't had a weekend without them yet! We have had rockets landing on our lawns, if they landed in our gutters there is potential for a fire. Public displays only!

Fireworks terrify my animals and I can cope for one night, but the fireworks seem to keep going on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday night for weeks afterwards. These are explosives, with irresponsible people having access to these, including those who use these fireworks to inflict pain on animals. This IS NOT good enough. Fireworks should not be for public sale. Large public display only done once a year.

Totally agree, it wasn't like this in UK either. What can be done about it?

I am sick to death of night after night hearing fireworks till after midnight. I fell for my 2 dogs who pace up and down and are panting so much. I am tired the next day for work. How many fireworks do people need to see and hear????? Does anyone know who you can formally complain to?

Im sick of the inconsiderate neighbours letting off loud fireworks night after night til late. I was born in NZ but was lucky to have lived in a civilized place like California where private fireworks are banned

My cat is terribly sick. She is bleeding profusing from a urinary tract irritation caused by stress from fireworks set off within 5 to 10 metres of our house every night for the last week or two. Last year our guinea pig died on Guy Fawkes night. It isn't just domestic animals that are harmed- so are wild animals and birds. It is fine to have controlled public displays every now and then to celebrate events, but Guy Fawkes has got out of hand. People no longer confine themselves to setting off the fireworks on the night, but set them off for days before and days afterwards. As I write this my neighbours are still setting them off, despite me pleading with them that my cat is very sick.

This is supposed to be a rural and lifestyle area, how do fire works fit in here? I'm fed up of spending endless nights in my paddocks, with my camelids. All because these wankers can buy fire works and let them off for days on end. It's all profit for the Warehouse and the developers, council too. No

The noise night after night causes stress to pets, and seriously impacts wellbeing of people and especially kids due to sleep disturbance.

Currently have neighbours setting off fireworks which were aimed at our property with debris landing on our car and on our deck. My two cats are somewhere outside, hopefully safe, and our two dogs are fretting inside our house. Time to ban them.
