They scare my dogs every year.One of them so bad that he has serious panic attacks and wont eat for days and has to be medicated.

This is one of those freedom issues where freedom from others personal use of fireworks outweighs the freedom to use fireworks. Pets are terrified, kids wake up crying when a load bang goes off just outside there bedroom window. On a personal level, I suffer from anxiety and fireworks being set off whilst I'm in bed feeds into my subconscious and fosters awful, very stressful dreams. I think a ban is becoming a no brainer.

They are all year round here..ban them..too many idiots out there..the old kiwi pastime of having a beach fire is banned that caused no problems yet explosives are allowed in the hands of mostly idiots..

I am tired of trying to keep my terrified pets calm while people let fireworks off at all hours of the day and night. At least with Public displays it is a set time on one night of the year.
