Simply a money grab for the city using them. Unfortunately the company that makes the cameras receives the majority of the money. So the end result is an intrusion on peoples freedom to travel based on unfair practices of ticketing. A ticket should be based on the totality of the circumstances. Time of day, weather conditions, vehicle condition, reason for going over the speed limit… Otherwise if it’s a robot/camera. Shouldn’t that system be based on 1 mph over the legal speed limit and you broke the law. The discretion to not stop people driving over the speed limit Should be left to a person/Officer. Otherwise if you’re setting your cameras to ticket at 11 mph or whatever over the speed limit aren’t you changing the law.

Shame on any village for using these. Why is there a camera on East Alexander rd. There are no houses there, just people going to the casino!!!!! Oh, I get it. Target casino patrons for only being in the village for 1/4 mile. Shame on this sham.
