It has come to the attention of many teachers on iTalki that one particular student, going by the name Michael, is not using the platform in an appropriate manner according to iTalki's own community guidelines, and has built up a lengthy track record of harassing and abusing female teachers. We believe that this is unfair, and despite numerous teachers reporting this student to iTalki, he continues to be allowed on the platform where he can target new teachers to his heart's desire.

We know that lesson feedback should be a fair and equal experience for everybody, but there is a huge difference between leaving your honest opinion and being blatantly rude, unreasonable and vindictive. Sometimes you may want to comment that a lesson/teacher just wasn't right for you, or perhaps it was a bit unstructured, or maybe the teacher didn't come prepared enough. Leaving dozens of reviews and 1-star ratings, on the contrary, all the while calling these innocent female teachers 'disgusting', 'arrogant' and 'appalling' among other things, should never be something acceptable on any platform. This isn't feedback, this is ABUSE.

We teachers who are signing this petition would like to put an end to this once and for all. iTalki, we call on you to ban this student and his multiple profiles today and prevent him from further spoiling the language teaching experience on your platform.
