Please ban styrofoam in Albany County. Plenty of alternative packaging materials are available for use by local and regional businesses who sell take-out food and drinks.

If its not recycled or recyclable it doesn't belong in the waste stream. Look a the mountain created in Albany off Washington Ave Extension. Approximately two-thirds of it could have been recycled.

Styrofoam winds up in landfills and along the side of the road, contributing to pollution and posing a potential threat to animals. There's no reason to continue using this material, especially since there are now many healthier, biodegradable alternatives.
