Ban Styrofoam in Alaskan restaurants

With all our knowledge about the harmful impacts of polystyrene, and plenty of safe alternative options in existence, it is unconscionable, that polystyrene is still allowed. It needs to be banned immediately!

There are several compostable alternatives to styrofoam. It's high time to prohibit single-use styrofoam in Alaska restaurants as a huge step toward cleaning up our environment.

Please ban Styrofoam! We have too many complicated health risks already and it reduces waste.

Single-use styrofoam is one of the biggest sources of toxic, health-harming litter in the Arctic. It is so easily replaced by safer, affordable alternatives. HB 25 will help solve this problem. It's a well-crafted bill.

Styrofoam is one of the worst offenders in spreading toxic chemicals into our food! Please help stop this by prohibiting the use in our restaurants.

The Arctic is accumulating microplastics at an alarming rate - in our ocean, on land, in our fish, in our children, in us. Please ban these harmful chemicals NOW!

Styrene breaks down into microplastics which can cause cancer and probably heart disease too. We don’t need these storing our food and polluting our environment!

Please stop the use of harmful plastics and Polystyrene materials from restaurants. They take hundreds of years to breakdown. If at all. This is contributing to warmer temperatures, less sea ice, threats to Alaskan fish and animals, more wild land fires and on and I. Thank you. Meghan

Supporting this bill is another step in reducing the negative impacts of microplastics that our now being found in our food, water, and our own bodies.

Please ban styrofoam from usage by restaurants. I have a cafe and there are very good paper and bamboo based alternatives that are not harmful to any life form. Thank you!

Please stop the needless use of polystyrene packaging in restaurants. People don’t realize the harm to their health & we will have to help pay the cost as a society in the future.

For years the science has been showing that polystyrene is harmful to the environmental and public health. Given all the safe and affordable alternatives, please stand up for Alaska and ban this outdated packaging.

Why do we keep using these things that we know do so much damage? Am I saying those black containers would be better? NO! But they do not break down nearly as quick, and guess what? I REUSE THEM BECAUSE OF THE QUALITY. I would like to see you wash and reuse your styrofoam containers. But hey, this is 'Murica, and I'll put as much crap into the land and my body as I can, just as the Good Lord intended.

I do not like styrofoam

Alaska's precious and vulnerable land cannot be aloud to be destroyed and desecrated by people who only have the love of money in their hearts!
