West Lothian Council righty take pride in providing a safe, environment for people and families to live. More housing is being proposed for this area and increased employment would be welcome.
However,to consider fracking in this area is appalling and would be extremely detrimental to the health and well being of residents along with the obvious danger of underground shafts and underground workings that are part of our history.
It would certainly not be an attractive place to encourage families to come and live.
Please say no to this dangerous method of extraction.
A look around West Lothian will show many wind farms - surely this is an example of how renewables are proving to be the way forwards?

To consider fracking in this area is hugely irresponsible. The area is undermined from previous working and clearly the water sources would be polluted. The dangerous fracking process in an undermined area seems a stupid thing to do with the likelihood of earth movements affecting the numerous and widespread communities in the area.
The air pollution and increased heavy vehicle movement will also be a negative for the people living here.
I urge you not to allow fracking in this area.

Clean water is vital and beyond price. Fracking destroys clean water. Fracking is contrary to a low carbon energy policy. Energy policies should be low carbon and should make consistent sense. Fracking is not sensible nor safe.

As a Health Care Professional I do not want to see the communities of West Lothian suffer any adverse ill health that these toxic industries would bring. We owe it to future generations to protect our environment for them and their children instead of being exploited by corporations and industries who will not be there when things go wrong, when the water and land and air is polluted and our health is collectively affected. Please prevent Ecocide and ban this toxic industry

Short term energy and monetary gains do not justify devastating the land, decimating the agriculture and tourist industry and destroying the health and wellbeing of the local people. All of these disadvantages have long term costs which will be much higher than short term gains.

For all the claims made by the industry that these processes can be undertaken safely and will be well regulated, all the impartial research and all the evidence from places where fracking has taken place are living - or dying - proof that this is not the case. The positive propaganda is like the campaign that claimed tobacco was safe when all the while the companies were sitting on scientific proof to the contrary - interesting that frackers in the US are using the same PR company as big tobacco did...

It's plain that the people along both north and south banks of the River Forth are very strongly against the development of Fracking, Coalbed Methane and Underground Coal Gasification. We have done the research! We have succeeded in stopping UCG. we Will not be forced by the powerful fossil fuel companies who are trying to bully us. We want a clean healthy environment and a healthy River Forth. We want clean green energy, not a fractured polluted wasteland and an atmosphere damaged by chemicals and fugitive methane.
