As a resident I think it's ridiculous to add a bumming store to the peninsular. Too much traffic and we already have hardware stores locally

I strongly object to this proposal. The proposed development does not fit in with the streetscape of Mullens st at all. It will cause extra traffic on an already busy exit from the peninsular.

I strongly object to this proposal on the grounds of unacceptably extreme traffic, hours of business, annihilation of the two hardware businesses already in the area, increase in dangerous large vehicles, decrease in parking facilities, the aesthetics of another huge box in the street, and the complete lack of concern for the community.
This is absolutely the wrong location for a Bunnings.
The traffic situation entering and exiting Victoria Road from the Balmain peninsular is already intolerable. This project would completely destroy any attempt to manage traffic.
The Inner West Council MUST REFUSE this abominable application!!

The traffic flow out of Mullens/Roberts Road to the Anzac Bridge is bad enough as it is of a weekday morning without making it just as bad during the late afternoon trading hours and on the weekends.

The heritage White Bay Power Station (directly opposite the proposed site) is in the process of remediation and master planning to create a stunning world class Tech Hub + public cultural space. There is simply no synergy here and a Bunnings street front will adversely impact on the success of this valuable public space. This is a valuable piece of urban real estate, not just a left over bit of land at the bottom of the hill, and is worthy of a considered urban design response.
The proposed development at a main GATEWAY to the peninsula, is at complete odds with our eclectic, mostly heritage and predominantly residential peninsula.
We need to retain the unique urban character of the Balmain/Rozelle peninsula, and not let it be destroyed with inappropriate developments.
ON another note, small hardware, homeware and garden businesses on the peninsula should be supported, not put out of business by big commercial developments.

I couldn't agree more on the reasons stated about the inaproptiateness of the proposal. Particularly the increased traffic congestion it will cause to already congested streets.

A development like this is totally out of keeping with Rozelle/Balmain. The traffic in Mullens St is already bad, especially in peak hours. The parking spaces in Mullens St are required by residents as the majority don't have garages. We have a nearby hardware store. They would be put out of business if Bunnings went ahead. Nearby residents would be impacted by noise and congestion with the proposed trading hours.We already have bus issues in this street. Bunnings would exacerbate delays further.

Our two current hardware stores cater perfectly for the surrounding area. The approval of this build will be completely irresponsible by local council. Support small business owners and let them flourish.
