Not necessary and it will negatively impact traffic for the locals. There are many other sites and Bunnings in the local vicinity that are perfectly fine where they are - and my husband is a builder - he agrees!!!

Please, please don't let this Bunnings go ahead!!! It will have such a negative impact on our local community

It would destroy the character of the area.

This development needs major amendment due to its size and bulk and its traffic generation

In our view, this Development Application is severely ill suited for this site and anywhere on the Rozelle/Balmain peninsula or any suburb where it is proposed to be adjacent to residential zoning, or in an area where traffic and street access area already severely challenged. It adds no apparent benefit to the area when any proposed benefits (as claimed by the applicant) are balanced against all likely negative impact.

you need to advertise the petition more. Banners on the street with no call to action make no sense.

Not the right place for Bunnings....traffic won't work. This area can't accommodate both more medium density housing AND the Bunnings traffic.

Bunnings caused the demise of our family hardware business. I'd hate to see it happen to the local hardware stores and timber yards in the Balmain/Rozelle/Annandale area

I am completely opposed to this development; as a local resident, supporter of existing (small and 'true local') businesses, opposed to rubbish and shopping trolleys in adjacent streets, and someone who knows that any 'traffic management plan' has not been planned to succeed at all. I am a Bunnings customer, and will continue to go to existing adequate stores elsewhere as required.

Completely unnecessary! The hardware store is already there and boss!

The traffic associated with this proposal is unacceptable. Mullens Street is incapable of dealing with the current peninsula traffic.

No bunnings in Balmain

Absolutely appalled at this development. There is no way such a huge business would improve the area and the traffic would be terrible.

NO to Bunnings!!! We have excellent hardware shops in Balmain that are locally owned and operated. We do not need Bunnings in our area (plenty nearby in Alexandria and Ashfield). Let's keep our area special with local shops, not big multi-nationals stomping in. Plus...ENOUGH with the hyper-consumerism. Cheap stuff stacked to the ceiling WILL NOT make you happy. Might I suggest the area be made into parkland. Or how about a precinct that celebrates the arts? A city farm? BUT NOT A BUNNINGS!!!!!!

Not an appropriate facility for the location or the Balmain Peninsula as a whole. It will have major adverse environmental impact on the amenity of the surrounding area and streets.

Inappropriate and damaging to the local environment and community. Such stores should only be accommodated in retail and industrial parks

There's no need for big business in Balmain. The nearest Bunnings is close enough (and still too close)!

This is not necessary and if this proposal is accepted the traffic to Victoria rd and beyond will be so much more difficult to negotiate. We have hardware stores in balmain. We can drive to bigger ones when necessary. Even a Bunningings store.
