Say NO to Bunnings in Balmain/Rozelle

I petition against this development on the following grounds: 1. It will serve other than the local community, a community that is especially localised on account of its peninsular nature; 2. We are well-served by the Evans St hardware business which would be unfavourably impacted. 3. The development is immediately opposite the heritage site of the old Power Station (which one hopes will be sensitively developed) and would not be consonant with that. 4. The traffic impacts from customers coming from outside the area go without saying; 5. Three storeys would have an untoward impact, even given the low-rise, low-key industries nearby.

Seriously we do not need another bunnings. Especially in a heritage area. Where is your sense of history?

Let's plan this to be a high tech precinct, not a shopping hub...

This is overkill and would ruin the area. Please reconsider at how ridiculous the traffic would be around the area, it's already so bad!!

The traffic created by the Bunnings' store would be devastating. It's hard enough to get in and out of the Balmain peninsula. Don't make it harder!

The junction of at Robert/Mullens is horrific. It could absolutely not cope with this.

Dear Leichhardt Council, I object to the Bunnings development proposal in Parson's Street, Rozelle. D/202016/571 on the following grounds:- Excess traffic on already congested roads and residential streets from 6.00am to 10.00pm and on weekends Large service vehicle trucks on small streets and in traffic Increased noise Impact on parking problems in surrounding streets Destruction of the unique heritage of Balmain and impact on White Bay Power Station Regards Don Gear

Rozelle is a totally inappropriate venue for a retailer of this size. The traffic would be unmanagible.d

There are 5 Bunnings within 5km when the new one at Gladesville is complete

Traffic in peak hours already backs up all the way along Roberts Street. The roads can't cope with any more cars in such a small area. Bunnings won't create jobs in the area. Most of the staff will probably come from out of the area. Again, adding to more traffic congestion.

Please don't let this happen. The traffic is bad enough on this section of road.

Absolutely ridiculous that this is being considered. The traffic is already bad in the area and will turn rozelle into a carpark. Another Bunnings is not needed!!

Because 1 Bunnings within a 5km radius is one too many!

This is totally a inappropriate development, simply corporate bullying by an infamous corporate bully, Bunnings. Populism is powerful - the people will road block this store if it's built. Don't even try. Try somewhere else.
