According to Wikipedia, Mr Arif Bata has now been elevated to be an Ayatollah. He is one of only three Ayatollah in the UK. The other two are Ayatollah Hassan Raza Ghadeeri and Ayatollah Aqeel-ul-Gharavi

This is his inheritance from his Ismaili faith and what the preceeding Aga Khan’s failed to accomplish at the begining od the twentieth century Mr Bata is now resolutely attempting to accimplish.

How many people have actually heard the full lecture, rather than taking individual comments out of context, or worse, just repeating something they have heard someone else say was said? Sheikh Arif always advises that we should debate and question. He is very transparent, and also makes himself available for questions. This witch hunt and anonymous name calling is actually backbiting and slander - worse as its against a shia aalim.
