Ban Arif Abdul Hussain (Bata)

The question is not about “The land of Karbala and the tragedy that took place on it is central to our existence (sic). Imam Hussain (AS) is a pillar of our Imaan and it is without a doubt that our religion exists thanks to His teachings and sacrifices,” no one disputes it, but whether the arbaeen walk is part of the practise and whether without it the mission of Imam Hussain (as) will not survive. What is important; a ritualistic arbaeen walk (only recently introduced) or in properly understanding and practically applying the need and the message of uprising and reformation?

If I am asked, who is the most learned Sheikh in the whole of UK, my answer would be Sheikh Arif Abdul Hussain. So why some have, without justification, tried to attack him? The answer lies in the following selected postings in support of him: 1. Quoting out of context is a dirty trick used by liars. Some people (including those who sit on a member) have issues with Sheikh Arif's approach to things because their minds are so closed, they cannot think abstractly and therefore are unable to think critically. 2. How can you take a few minutes of a lecture out of context and sprinkle it with your own comments based on your clearly biased and warped perception and claim to 'expose' a student of the Ahlel bayti path. If it is not self-evident to you as to what you are doing, then your inner faculties are truly dead. Imam Ali (as) says, "do not look at who is speaking, look at WHAT is being said." You take out of context what is being said [by Shaikh Arif] and you clearly have a personal bias with the speaker. You are an utter disgrace. It would be better if you came out from behind your niqab and had an honest discussion with the speak with the intention of sincerely learning something. 3. What Sheikh Arif said is nothing new. that is the fact. it may be new to you… 4. Please speak to him. Shaykh Arif understanding on Islam is different to the norm but that makes it more interesting. He is open to people's suggestions and it is better to clarify than writing in this way. 5. We’re quite fond of the lectures delivered by Sheikh Arif Abdulhussain. Most of them are delivered in English and deals with topics that would be [of] interest to anyone who’s even slightly religiously inclined, Muslim or not. Sheikh Arif doesn’t have too many of his lectures available online. It is the politics that had deprived Imam Ali (as) to the first Khaif and our Imams (as) being imprisoned to silence them. In the academic world, learning takes place when there are disagreements and alternative views are presented. It depends on evidence and interpretation of those evidence. Those of you who have done Ghiba (back-biting) need to personally apologise to Sheikh Arif and as I know him personally, he will surely forgive you all and he will pray for your success. Why not grab this opportunity and save yourselves from the torment of your graves for eating a dead flash of your brother due to back-biting? What have we learnt form the siras of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Imams (as)? Our 6th Imam (as) Sajjad has told us to find one good act in a worst person and praise him and forget all his short comings. Life is too short to spend in vain postings.

How many of you are educated to his level? The problem I see that we have taken our traditions and practices as religion and vice versa. What is harm in hearing to alternative views, I ask. No one is compelling anyone to follow a particular belief system. What if we are wrong in our belief system? Islam tells us to respect a scholar even if he/she is not a Muslim. Tell me, why some of you are acting as dumb and deaf and your hearts are sealed. Leave aside Islam, how many of you have tried to learn about other religion and their religious practices? Wake up brothers and sisters and stop indulging in fitna. May Allah (SWT) save us, Amin.

Sistani may BAN Bata but that does not mean he will leave the Ithnasheri faith and revery to being an Aga Khani. For one thing there is plenty of Khums to fund a lavish jet-set life style. This coupled with liberal fiqh rules on Mutah-marraiges has made our religion a heaven for promiscuous Sheikhs.

What Arif Bata says is the truth - I repent of what I've said and trully and fully support him (although in person I'll contradict this statement because of my agenda)
