I strongly demand the abolishment of Almajiri system. The phenomenon of begging results in relegating our society. Let’s end it, before it ends Us!!

I don't want it to stop

It's quite common in Northern Nigeria. These Children are allover the street, One can identify them by their appearance in dirty rags, some with fungal skin infections or smelling badly due to poor hygiene. They usually walk barefooted in search for food for themselves and for the Mallams. They spend their precious childhood years struggling to survive the hunger, neglect, Harsh weather condition, communicable diseases, social violence, exploitation, bullying, sexual assault among others. Little time is allocated for Reading the Qur'an. Only few survive to become responsible individuals in the society. Majority ended up as street urchins, thieves,Thugs or Rebels. Some of them can easily kill or injure someone for little or no reason. Feelings of humanity and sympathy is not in their dictionary because the society didn't treat them well when they were young.

It’s high time to stop Almajiri in my country

May the Almighty rescue these children and give them a great future.

If parents can cater for their children what's the essence of producing them?? Something needs to done.

The almajiri is a pool of potential recruits for National threats to the national security of Nigeria
