Traffic on US 42 is awful. Having to drop my kids off at Ockerman today took me 25 mins whereas Ballyshannon is within walking distance from the French Quarter - Orleans. I have a middle school athlete that ran varsity for Cooper as a 7th grader. There is no transportation for her from Ockerman to Cooper daily. It's hard balancing working full time with being a single parent and having children that have to travel so far to get to school.
Hearthstone kids - if they were to go to Ockerman - they would have an easier commute. They're closer to Ockerman than we are. They would also miss the majority of 42's traffic nightmare.

Leaving Orleans North French Quarters out of the redistributing for Ballyshannon completely omits logic. The board should be embarrassed.

We reside in Orleans North and cannot fathom why our child would be put on a bus to Ockerman when Ballyshannon is walkable.

All Of Orleans and French Quarter should be included to attend Bally Shannon. We will choose other schooling options outside of The public school district if the districting does not change. Many of my neighbors will do the same.

Our daughter goes to Ockermann now instead of Gray which already makes no sense. When the new middle school is complete 1/2 mile from our house the decision to continue sending them to Ockermann is rediculous. I'd suggest this decision is about more then boundaries and distances.

We moved to Orleans after a divorce to keep my kids in their schools with their friends. My child was in tears when she heared this.

We live in New Orleans . I just can't understand why the redistricting of the schools would have my child going to Ockerman middle school instead of Ballyshannon. That's ridiculous when New Orleans is right across the road. It's not right to have the children go all the way to Ockerman when of all neighborhoods New Orleans is right across the street. I really hope this changed.
