Not a good location! We need an updated study that includes all the impacted areas of a 24 hour big box store. Will you listen to those who voted you in to be our voice?

Not a good location for a big box store (AKA large traffic producer)

Stop the big box. Capitalize on our unique historical heritage... Don't destroy it. It takes more creativity, ingenuity, and effort. But it will be worth it.

Will you, the Planning Board, opt to assist Walmart move its business plan forward or, will you side with the citizens of the Town and the Village and preserve the quality of life in Ballston as we know it?
Will you take the next step in SEQR and vote a positive declaration, requiring Walmart to do an Environmental Impact Statement?

The book, The Walmart Effect, lines out what has happened all across the country when a Walmart store comes to town. It is helpful reading to understand what the impact to our small town can be.

I moved to Ballston Spa from Saratoga Sptings because of the fast paced growth there. Growing up I loved to walk to Broadway. Now it's difficult to find parking and enjoy yourself there. Ballston Sps needs to be smart with their growth. We have some wonderful unique stores and restaurants. That's what sets Ballston Spa apart.

Please thoroughly evaluate the impact of this development with a positive declaration. We don't want to regret decisions made without full information.

If you're confident that a Walmart will not have any adverse impact on the community, then a positive declaration should be a requirement, if not a given, particularly with the sheer scope of the intended project.
