Ballston Planning Board: Vote “Positive Declaration” on Walmart

Please do the positive determination.

I think the traffic will increase on some of the side streets, such as McLean Street, East High, Malta, Eastern and Hyde Blvd in ballston Spa Village

I oppose having a big box store in our town. I am in favor of smaller and locally-owned businesses, which I patronize.

Please keep a project of this size further outside the village. It is WAY too close to the village and the schools. The infrastructure is not built to handle a project of this size. PLEASE issue a Positive Declaration on this development

How can you NOT support a positive declaration?

Walmarts are only 10 to 15 minutes away from home. We do not want one on our doorstep.

I urge the Ballston Planning Board to issue a positive declaration on the Walmart project, and to require a full EIS. Thank you.

There is no need for a Walmart in Ballston. The negative effects outway the positive. Please declare a Positive Declaration.

We do not need to invade this village which is a tourist attraction with a big box named store. Not only will it destroy the attraction this town holds (with Saratoga so near) ; it will also cause overloading of the highways on already heavily trafficked roads. There are big box stores within easy reach by all residents. There are also several grocery stores Price Chopper, 2 Hannfords. and Aldi's within a 10 mile radius. Look at Wilton- they are building an Aldi's in an area with the before named stores plus BJ's and Walmart and Target which sell groceries. These stores can be accessed either via car or public transportation. Are we going to have shopping carts now littering our streets (as it is difficult to carry what is bought in these stores by hand). If you use a car to tote home your purchases that defeats the argument-right?

We want a "Positive Declaration" so all the harmful impacts can be studied AND eliminated, or at least reduced. If a Negative Declaration is declared, the Town loses all leverage to insist on any additional harm reduction.

Please save our lovely town.

This is far too big a project to take lightly. OF COURSE it will have an impact of some sort. POS DEC will enable us to gather all the info instead of taking Wal-Mart's word for it.

Purposefully moved to Ballston Spa because of it's friendly community and privately owned businesses - moved from Glenville where Walmart came and now ruined the area with increased "bad" element and crime always happening in Walmart parking lot.

A no-brainer...the project requires a positive declaration for an envrmt study!!!!!!

Please let this be a government case where the people are heard and not big business.
