Too large scale a project for that site. Will create traffic headaches for years to come.
Projects this large need to be placed in open land with easy access just outside of town.

I do not want another Walmart in Ballston Spa area. There is already one nearby in Wilton which is within 10-12 miles away from village. Adding another Walmart so close will only hurt local business not to mention increase the traffic in the village. Thank You!

While I may not reside in Ballston Spa anymore, my family and friends do. They also own small businesses in the town. Wal-Mart's aggressive and selfish tactics do NOT benefit ANY TOWN, EVER!!! NO TO WALMART!!!

My family moved to Ballston Spa when I was young, and I remember how the early 90's were in this town - other than Fisher's Variety Store and O'Brien's Pharmacy, Front Street was pretty much vacant. Twenty years on, this small Downtown area now is thriving with restaurants, "Mom and Pop" Stores, and growing businesses – which, if we allow a big-box store to set up less than a mile down the road will more than likely smother this developing area, sending Ballston Spa with all of its charm and budding life into a situation worse than what I remember from first moving into the region. And for what – so people don’t have to drive ten to fifteen minutes to the closest Wal-Mart?

As a former village resident whose parents still reside in the village, I am greatly opposed to the Big-Box effect that will damage all of the wonderful local businesses and strain the community bonds and friendships forged between the residents of the town, village, and their local business owners. The village does not need the added traffic, noise, light pollution associated with such a project or the damage to local business that will suffer due to the big-box presence.

Building a wal-mart would not be a good economic development for Ballston Spa. It will only bring increased traffic and low-wage/ low-skilled jobs. It will hurt the cute, small town appeal that is so hard to find in most areas that have a wal-mart

In addition to the potentially harmful effects on our current businesses, the small town of Ballston Spa simply cannot handle the increase in traffic that a Walmart store would bring

My husband and I are considering purchasing a home in ballston spa in the next five years but a Wal-Mart town would make us rethink our choice. We love the quaintness of ballston spa and the down town area, which would be forever changed by a Wal-Mart.

I work at the high school and worry about increased traffic near there. I also am concerned about the impact this big store would have on the wonderful small businesses in Ballston.

A positive declaration is the correct decision. The site is wrong and the impact of this development needs to be further studied . Poor planning cannot be undone.
The well being of all residents in the Town of Ballston should be the first priority of the Boards .

The roads don't have to receive an "F" from DOT to justify a Pos Dec. A measurable, significant degradation of our roads, and therefore quality of life, is more than sufficient justification for a Pos Dec. Let's get this right. Let's get Walmart to pay to mitigate the harms they are bringing to this community.
