Ballston Planning Board: Vote “Positive Declaration” on Walmart

We came to Ballston Spa 42 years ago. We raised our children here, our grandchildren are being raised here. Down town has seen it's difficulties and has done a tremendous effort turn around. The Walmart Plan will undo the wonderful growth our downtown has made. We do NOT want Walmart. They have destroyed any downtown near where they have built. They also have a very bad record of unfair treatment of their employees. We do not support having Walmart in Ballston Spa

I feel this will negatively impact the area,

If Walmart or any Big Box store came to the Village of Ballston Spa or the Town of Ballston, it would destroy the small town/small village character.

Why would officials not pursue every course of action available to them to ensure that they make the right decision?

I support a positive declaration. I want all aspects of this proposed WalMart examined. A thorough review will also give you information to allow you to mitigate any negative implications of this project. please approve a positive declaration for the good of all.

I would hate to see the beauty and quaintness of the village be invaded by any big box store! We need to keep our community a nice place for families to raise their children and enjoy life! Not putting the convenience of shopping number one!

I object to the building of a Walmart or any other big box type store in the Town of Ballston and/or the Village of Ballston Spa

We need a positive declaration. All the potential impact of the WalMart proposal must be reviewed closely. The planning board owes this to the town of Ballston, the village of Ballston Spa AND the planning board itself. this will be your legacy

Wrong location for such a large store. It will have a negative impact on Rte 67 which already has a high accident rate.

Please don't let Wal-Mart ruin our village and town! There are plenty of places to shop nearby and this is not needed!!

Mom and pop shops fit the community, not big box shops!

Wal-marts overall negative effects on the village will change the character of the town and be irreversible. Traffic and Crime increases are not acceptable when there are so many big box shopping choices already in Saratoga County.

We need a positive declaration!

I strongly oppose the impact of Walmart on small communities. I have observed it's effect on Ticonderoga New York and Sterling Colorado communities specifically, driving out small businesses and limiting choices.

Please issue a positive declaration. There needs to be much more research/investigation into the impacts that a huge store like walmart will have on the immediate and local communities. In my opinion these impacts will be detrimental and the project should be halted.

The Village simply cannot accommodate the massive amounts of traffic this project will produce. Year after year infrastructure in the Village is compromised. Increased truck traffic and volume of cars is sure to be harmful to the Village's financial state.

I urge the Planning Board to issue a Positive Declaration. The impacts north of the proposed site have not been fully accounted.

Our roads cannot handle the traffic this store will bring.
