Your Beatitude Patriarch Ignatius IV
Your Eminence the Bishops of the Antiochian Orthodox Church
We had always looked with pride at the University of Balamand which grows in the lap of Our Church, especially that it is built penny by penny with your blessing and under the protection of the Mother of God the Lady of Balamand
But, despite our faith in the mission of Our Church, we are worried about the way of handling the properties of the Balamand Monastery, especially when they are given to institutions and given names other than their original name. This is exactly pointing to what happened lately where instead of naming the hospital, that we so long waited for, with the name of the Lady of Balamand, the owner of the hill, it was named after the Prime Minister Rafic Hariri.
So, despite our respect for everybody and their financial, national and political positions, we don’t see in financing enough justification to name the hospital after anybody other than the Lady of Balamand, the name which bestows on the hospital protection, care and blessing.
So, we ask you, as children and with the insistence of zealots, to reconsider the naming of the hospital before starting the building
With much respect
Your Children
We are approaching the one hundred signature milestone which is the threshold required to trigger a formal review of our request by the church administration. Please direct this link to contacts who have a direct interest in the preservation of the monastery heritage so we can finalize this submission.

The hospital belongs to the monastery and should carry the name of the Lady of Balamand. It is an insult to change it for political reasons.

So sad to see tradition thrown out the window. That hill belongs to the church and the name should reflect that always.

Ridiculous. Keep politics out of our holy places. It should be Our Lady of Balamand period.

Fix this please. We want to see her name on the building not a politician.

Money shouldnt buy the naming rights to church property. This is Our Lady of Balamand hospital and that is the only name that makes sense.
