Why isn't this on Long Island. My daughter is 23 and has been in more ER visits.....she IS a danger to herself....but is always discharged....this will not end well...I mentioned the Baker Act to them they said not in ny....dear God please help us

My son is 23yeasr old an dhe already has intended kill himself and he refuse to get help. He also intended kill us both. He needs help asap. Can someone please let me know if there is help. He suffered of depression and ansieded.

Im in Montefieri Hosital emergency room more than half of patients need to be Baker Act. Due to abuse and neglect of prescription drug abuse and suicides journeys many die. But with the Baker Act lives are saved.

My niece tried to injure/kill herself. Was admitted to Elmhurst Hospital mental department but was released and now she is behaving with such a rage it is not controllable by any family member. Any assistance is appreciated. Many thanks. Luz Skonberg

We really need this and a resolution to keep them more than 72 hrs. Alot of those who need help are convincing liars and can talk there way out.

I have a 22 year old addict son whose been misdiagnosed for many years. He's mentally not right & getting him help is impossible , I've done rehab after program even incarcerated they said he doesn't fit criteria , how & what should I do. He's masking his pain & anxiety with substance abuse. Lost 35 pounds in two months & does whatever he wants I truly am devestated & emotionally drained financially in debt etc,,, I need help please what where do I turn. Conerned parent as most mothers go thru this , thus this young man is also a cancer survivor ! No insurance and pretty much homeless , all he does is party & over party , he will drive in this condition steal a car etc,,, no self control I feel he's a harm to himself & others please help I need direction & guidance before he dies or someone else does. Any suggestions direction I would greatly appreciate and desperately need ! This act is a MUST IN NY STATE! I believe 72 hours is not long enough when your dealing with multiple issues & a mass manipulator !! A devestated broken mom

I think mental heath has been replace by false religion. In stead of true realigon. Demons are very real and articular supernatural power full beings . mental heath . has destroy so many people lives as this is a de human.nise. shame before our so call nation. Believe this.hell to Satan no!

This is necessary to get help for individuals who really need it yet do not believe there is anything wrong with them.
We have had an individual who has been suffering from delusions for 15 years. It has taken a terrible toll on the family and the other people involved in caring for him.
No one seems willing to temporarily commit this person and have consistently sloughed off responsibility leaving the family helpless.
It is a sad situation with no apparent solution.
