Britain is beautiful or dark or quaint or any other adjective you care to think of. The mega talented people who find, promote and show it off need recognition. It’s an art form

Location managers are usually first on site and last off. They work hard and deserve extra credit for the job they do!

The amount of unappreciated work that goes into location management is baffling. Without these skilled individuals taking the helm on the ground work, shoots wouldn't go so smoothly. A good managed location is as difficult as scoring a winning piece, directing an award winning scene or being so believable in a role that you can bring an audience to tears.

I have spent 20 years as a location manager championing the location department. We are fundamental to any film shoot but unfortunately remain undervalued and unrecognised!

Just two reasons I can immediately think of why LMs should be considered for a BAFTA … a good Location Manager can make a production look 10 times its original budget but finding great locations. It can also help Directors and DOP get their awards by finding unique, stunning or unknown locations.
