This is long overdue to recognise the craft and talent of the people working within the dept.

Location Managers, there from start to end. They don’t get enough recognition and we need to fix that.

Locations are a very important aspect of filmmaking as they set the atmosphere for the scene. The people who find and secure them for shooting need to be appreciated for their efforts.

The Location manager and whole dept are such an integral part of a film that it amazes me we still are not recognised

About time! I would also suggest a ‘Best Production’ BAFTA award for the Line Producer (if not already recognised), UPM, 1st AD and Supervising Location Manager.

This is so important and a great way for BAFTA to recognise the department. This step was recently taken by the American TV Academy in accepting the membership of Location Managers.

I have worked as an AD in UK film industry for over 15 years and feel that the location department are often over looked & should be given the recognition for the artistic quality they bring to each production
