This is definitely important and recognition to the Location Department should be essential.

Location scouting and management is fundamental for the success of dramatic and period storytelling. Our craft deserves recognition, give credit where it is long overdue.

As a union location manager and member of the Locations Managers Guild International, it has always amazed me how little recognition is bestowed upon the professional, hard working men and women who find, procure and manage the amazing locations that make such a difference in the look and visual "ecology" of films, TV and other productions in the UK. It is time for this to change, especially considering the importance of those locations to the United Kingdom's entertainment industry.

Change title to Director of Locations or Location Director, Location Producer.
The word “manager”, seems kind of negative to the artistic side of filmmaking. We need a better title.
