It will open a respectful dialogue with residents and it will enable you to fully reflect the wishes of your community. After all, isn't that what the government is suppressed to do?

This young man is doing what all kids should be doing, he is learning to care about the important things in life. He is outside, not sitting in front of a tv screen. I had 18 of them once, one special one I named Henny Penny, I could call her by name and she would come running and jump into my arms. Chickens can be a lot like the dogs and cats we cherish in our lives. Let Riley keep his chickens. Oh, and I bet someone on council would love some of those eggs.......

Fix this stupid mistake and let the kids learn something other than how Grown ups can do dumb things. I owned Chickens as a kid and always own over a acre of land in the country. what is the difference of have a dozen chickens or a dozen wild turkey's or ducks living on your land. I just eat a Partridge that hit my Picture glass window because i couldn't see him go to waste.

I think revisiting the bylaw is necessary Huntsville. Laws are a good thing but sometimes we get stuck with laws we really don’t need or want. Change is good. For the sake of 1/4 acre, let’s look at all the benefits this young Riley is experiencing as opposed to negatives. This young man may be an entrepreneur one day. He has a productive hobby! Let’s help him keep it!! I’m with you Riley!!

rural Ontario town with a by-law regarding chickens? Ridiculous! Huntsville area was on our short list for retirement but that will change if the by-law is not revisited and changed because I intend to bring my chickens with me. Please change the law and allow Canadians to have the opportunity to be self-sustaining, especially in rural area's!

You know something. I think it ia amazing that a 10 year old boy is showing the responsibility of an adult in raising these birds. In fact he iss showing more responsibility than some adults. I think he should be allowed to continue his venture. He has done best to comply by making the area even safer for them as well as the neighbors

Hens are by far the best pets you can own if can look after them properly; just like any other pet. You must learn proper animal husbandry. Chickens are smart, quiet, and they provide fresh food daily for your family. Yes there should be a limit per acre, but the current limit is too low. In regards to property and neighbours; no one's pets should be able to roam on other people's property, especially including cats and dogs. Cats and dogs and animals like raccoons can transmit roundworm and rabies and other diseases to humans also including leptospirosis. Chickens eat ticks that cause lyme disease. Birds can not get rabies. They eat all sort of bugs. They sometimes even eat mice. Their feces is great manure for making your garden grow. Chickens are intelligent, sensitive, trainable and can be very loving pets. The saying fences make good neighbours is true - keep your chickens safe from predators and from uninformed and ignorant human neighbours.

If the chickens go, then so do the neighbors animals.

This young man is learning hard, farming, and being outside and learning to take care of other animals and something other that himself. Life skills that he’ll need for the same of his life. Don’t take that away from him. He is not playing on and the iPad or videos games here.

Hi, Riley. I don't have chickens but think it's wonderful that you take care of these chickens and have for a while now. It tells me that you are a responsible person and will likely grow up to continue to be so. It's too bad that your neighbour doesn't like that you have these chickens, but the fact that you haven't had other complaints tells me that you must be doing a good job. I definitely will sign your petition because I believe you'll become a responsible person in the future as well, helping others around you as well. I hope everything will go well on Wednesday.

I believe this young man should be allowed to raise his chickens without hassle from people.
