I think its ridiculous to make us keep our bags in our lockers. For one, someone can just as easily caring a weapon in their pants or shirt. Two, our lockers aren't even big enough for the book themselves, let alone the backpacks.

Honestly i would rather be searched than not have a backpack
If the school cant afford to pay for metal detectors, they could always collect donations and do some type of thing to raise money for them.

I personally believe that carrying a backpack through the hallways at our school isn't going to stop school violence. Metal Detectors is the only thing going to stop the guns and things at the school.

Backpacks should be allowed!! It's not going to stop anyone from bringing a gun into the school. We NEED metal detectors. School busses should too. It's sad that in today's society we focus on the small things and worry less about the bigger problems. We need safety if we're gonna educate ourselves. Get real and give us our backpacks back.

I personally do not believe that making students keep their backpacks in their locker is going to stop potential school violence. I believe that this issue needs looked at from a statistical stand point, out of the school shootings that have happened over the last 20 years, how many of the weapons were brought to school in a backpack? The only way to prevent a weapon from entering the school is with metal detectors. It is a society problem that the youth of today as well as adults think that violence is the way to solve their problems.

Kids carry too many things. Backpacks are a necessity. We are making it too hard & unmanagable for our kids daily school routines of going back & forth from class to class if they are to carry everything with them. If they can't have backpacks, then teachers need to keep everything they need in their classrooms.

I understand eh u they sent allowing us to carry our backpacks, but I didn't pay $50 for my Victoria Secret backpack to stick in my locker. Not to mention I've yet to get a locker that has the right combination.

As a girl I find that it would be very embarrassing to have to go to my locker and get out a tanpon or pad then carry it to the bathroom. If I had my bag I wouldn't worry about that though and it wouldn't be embarrassing because it would be hidden inside my purse/bag and not in my locker.
