I want to help any way I can. My daughter is 26 and has recently been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. There are NO facilities in the state of FL that will take her unless she is suicidal/homicidal or if she also has a drug or alcohol addiction. In the state!

Early diagnosis is key to helping our mentally ill be successful in the community, which is better for the community, the economy, and most of all the mentally ill person. It should always be a win win!!!!!

Early detection and intervention can save lives and prevent unnecessary suffering. It's also a cheaper way to serve those with mental illnesses over the long term. It's a win-win!

We are absolutely overdue for this positive and life-saving change. With compassion, validation, love, support, early detection, and therapy the healing can truly begin. All of us would benefit on a personal level since 1 out 4 adults have a diagnosable mental illness in a year's timespan and in our lifetime it is 1 out of 2 which means we either know someone or we ourselves are affected. There is hope. There is help, especially when we work together. <3 !

Bipolar type 2 here. It is a difficult and life-altering diagnosis. Early detection is key to living a happy and healthy life-- and it can also benefit loved ones and family members.

Prevention and early intervention works. Suicide is preventable. Recovery is achievable. Lets do whatever it takes to be sure that everyone has access to the appropriate level of mental health services and supports at the appropriate time.

Early detection and early intervention for mental illness, like breast cancer, prostate cancer, and other life threatening diseases will save lives. If my physician can check my prostate size every year, why isn't she checking my mental health?

Early detection and treatment is imperative, as each day we read in the media of someone mentally ill causing serious harm to others or themselves. What if we could detect and treat these individuals before they wind up on the news. We can do better and should.

My husband didn't get diagnosed with bipolar disorder until he was almost middle-aged. Early diagnosis would have been truly beneficial to him and our family.

More people die of suicide each year than from gun violence. When will our leaders acknowledge this and make the necessary changes that focus on detecting and curing mental illness?

It's 2015 - it's time for drastic measures. We need to RELIGIOUSLY ASSEMBLE to SPEAK about PRESSING PETITIONS, or we the people are abridging our own right to govern the liberty of our very minds.

I am a 30 year survivor. The stigma at times seemed worse than the actual disease. I keep on. I stand for early detection, progressive treatment and studies and understanding. We have a disease what is so hard to understand
Early detection, diagnosis and treatment. Is key.
