Mental Illness has been trivialized for muck too long! It is long past time for equal care for all those who have any mental illness!

I support #MentalHealthAmerica #B4Stage4 movement ; since is an action that is going to benefit individuals with #ChronicIllnesses like myself. And I believe that we the #patients of these psychiatrical and psychological #conditions should be our own #advocates when it comes to seeking the #HealthGuidance that is needed for our own #wellbeing.

I lost my uncle in 1990, and my mom in 1996, both to mental illness/suicide. it is now almost 2016, and very little has changed to help people, and to end the stigma that keeps people from getting help.

Mental illness is a national epidemic and until it is addressed as such we won't make up any ground. The only way to make significant progress is to seriously address prevention and early intervention.

Let's be the change that turns the tide in how we view mental health. This should sound the alarm to insurance companies that mental health must, must be viewed and treated in the same light as physical health. Only then can get we can get the proper care necessary and help those less fortunate to receive the same as well. This is much appreciated.

Mental health is nothing to play around with, we are all reaching for the same goal which is to be happy in life and hope the same for others. Lets make that into a reality and help those need it. My best friend recently has been admitted into a rehabilitation center and although I am glad she is getting the help she needs, I realized there is only TWO rehab centers for young adolescents in south florida. The closest is an hour and a half away from where we live and the farthest is three hours away, let's make the change to help people have the ability to seek help near them.

Please help!! My 44 year old son is suffering from bipolar and personality disorders. He is in jail for attempting suicide by police and awaiting a mental health evaluation. Hoping to find some kind of long term treatment besides jail for him.

I struggle with major depression and ED-NOS. My depression has gotten better thanks to the help of my therapist and other places. I wouldn't like for other people to feel this low in their lives and if we can prevent that, we should all help. This could save lives and help families cope as well with how their loved ones are struggling.

I suffer from Bipolar I Disorder as well as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, Impulse Control Disorder, and Intermittent Explosive Disorder. I rely on three different medications to get me through my day. So far, I have been on an even keel but that can change at any time. People need to realize that mental illness is not something to be ignored. If you or one of your loved ones is suffering from a mental illness or showing signs of one, please do the right thing and take measures to counteract it. I signed this petition because of everything that I've been through in my life when it comes to mental health. I don't want people to fall through the cracks. I don't people to be ignored or abandoned because of what they cannot change. I want there to be easier access to affordable mental health treatment that is adequate. I believe that if we go after mental illness that things like school shootings would not happen. And I believe that because we should not allow someone who has been institutionalized or is not mentally stable according to a physician or counselor to own or obtain a firearm.

Identifying people with mental illness, and providing them with all treatment options, including CBD treatment or cannabis, is of grave importance of saving the lives of so many men and women.

We need to make mental health early intervention a high priority in this country. We could save thousands of lives and improve the quality of life for millions of people and so very much more!

I've struggled with severe Anxiety and severe to moderate depression for a good portion of my life and unfortunately every day is a struggle because I cannot afford to get the proper treatment I need, so this movement is extremely important and close to me. Change is not an option it's something that needs to happen.

Let's expand our conversations and personal actions toward raising the public's expectations of legislators and community care providers to address this problem. Nearly everyone in America cares about or knows someone who has--or will have--experience with a mental health challenge. Let's eliminate stigma, shame and fear, and instead become personally involved in achieving change and justice to benefit those who struggle.

This should have happened a long time ago, it is impossible to get help, and so many people fall through the cracks, especially adolescents, which is the crucial time to help.
