Dangerous and with new builds in the area it’s no longer fit for purpose.

I have to allow 15 minutes extra on my commute from Kingsbridge to Ashburton as there are nearly always hold ups due to the narrow bits

As well as causing great inconvenience to local traffic, especially during the summer months, there are overriding safety issues for all road users with due consideration given for emergency vehicles. Therefore, easy access along the B3196 must be treated as a priority.

I travel on the B3196 from Kingsbridge to Ashburton 5 days a week to collect my son from school on this road , the road surface is a disgrace and I sometimes sit in traffic jams for up to 15 mins caused entirely by large vehicles coming together at narrow points on the road I understand that large lorries have to use the road to gain access to businesses in loddiswell but I really don’t understand why many of the large vehicles based @ & around torr quarry ind est can’t use A381 they are a major contributor to the cause of the problems.

I use this route on a daily basis to get to and from work. In the summer it is often a nightmare with the extra holiday traffic and inexperienced drivers struggling to man over their caravan past lorries and cars. This road is overdue improvements to widen the pinch points

Yes, the road is a vital link bothway, and most certainly need widening in places.

I have encountered such difficulties when travelling along this section of road and would support this request.

Totally against this. What about halwell, harbertonford, mounts, berry pomeroy to Marldon. These pinch points slow down the traffic. The most pointless petition I've ever seen. It's Devon, what do you expect on B roads. Leave the hedges alone.

Kingsbridge Town Council has provided its previous support to both Loddiswell and Ugborough Parish Councils in their quest to improve the B3196 and therefore is very content to sign up to this current petition. We can confirm that this authority is very familiar with the route and fully recognises the problems brought up by the Parish Council. The condition of this vital link road which services many communities and several thousand people is poor. Devon County Council is strongly requested to explore much needed and long overdue improvements. Thank you. Kingsbridge Town Council.

Despite the 'B' road rating this is a major arterial route into the South Hams. For many years there have been serious hold ups and blockages particularly during holiday periods and damage to vehicles. The increasing number of homes being built will only serve to make this worse. Act BEFORE there is injury or loss of life!

Fully support this proposal. It’s an important link for businesses, tourism and working families using the A38.

Much of this road is not wide enough to allow a central white line. It is completely unfit for the lorries, tractors, caravans, motorhomes & commuter traffic that use this road daily.
