Save AYSO's Use of Paul Revere Middle School

Ayso has respectively been a part of Paul Revere for generations. Please keep our practices and games there, in our community.

I have kids that play club soccer and I am all for club. However AYSO is a stepping stone for players and more importantly a place where kids in the community come together. AYSO and clubs can coexist but letting clubs take total control of fields because they have the funding is not what's best for the kids. Please share the fields!!!

AYSO 69, a community organization that has as one of its founding tenets, "Everyone Plays," has lost all weekday and weekend usage of the Sunset field to a private, for-profit group. Putting aside the compelling argument that a community group should take precedence over a private one, 50% of permitted Revere time and space now goes to an organization that has 1/17 of AYSO's enrollment. Inequity abounds in this situation. It needs to be remedied.

As a neighbor of Paul Revere (I live in the Polo Fields neighborhood) and long time AYSO parent, I encourage the school administration to reconsider its permit allocation. The school fields would be best used to support neighbors and the community. Thank you!

Both my kids play AYSO at Revere and will be students there soon.

AYSO in a not-for-profit, community based organization that has served generations of children in our community and deserves access to PUBLIC facilities paid for by our collective taxes. The idea that AYSO access is being compromised is absolutely ridiculous.

Hard to fathom how LAUSD and Mr. Iannucci could have allowed the situation to come to this. AYSO builds community and fosters loyalty to the school. Reverse this curse!

Ridiculous that an organization like the AYSO which serves and has served thousands of youth, many of them students of Paul Revere should lose the use of a PUBLIC property for the benefit of a private club. Truly shameful.

Paul Revere is a public school in the Palisades-Brentwood community. The exclusion of a community organization such as AYSO from use of its fields for a community activity is wrong plain and simple .

This is a public school and Ayso is loaded with public school kids. Everyone plays. I can't imagine how my two girls could have participated in Ayso without Paul Rrvere.

AYSO should be prioritized over club soccer.

As a parent of several Paul Revere students of a public school and one we provide financial assistance to, I believe the school ought to be operating to the benefit of its constituency. We should all be concerned about the relationships, decision making process and the need for transparency and fairness in decision making. Full disclosure must be insisted upon.

AYSO 69 is a key part of our community that allow ALL kids who sign up to play soccer and have fun. Over 1500 local kids play in AYSO. Given the limited field space on the Westside, Paul Revere is a key resource for all kids (and not just those who can pay $2500+ to play club soccer) to play.

Please show our kids that they mater and sports matter by keeping the field for them.

As a public school, Paul Revere should support AYSO Region 69 as a community based organization rather than a small private club that does not share the principles of AYSO, which emphasizes inclusiveness and broad based participation.

As a parent (and ayso volunteer) of 4 grown children who plyed on those fields, and attended school in the pali complex, I implore you to reverse your recent policies and return as much field space to ayso. This facility has been a very important part of my kids lives as well as those of THOUSANDS of kids throughout the years.

Field space is scant in greater Los Angeles, and in the Westside in particular. In a groundswell of public awareness about the importance of exercise and physical fitness to promote physical health and to prevent many common diseases including diabetes and heart disease, where can our children exercise please? I acknowledge that privately held land is opened for use by various organizations. Youth soccer players have benefited from this, including the more than 1700 children in a program administered by AYSO Region 69. I understand how there may be no obligation to one entity or another, be it a 75-member youth soccer club or a 1700 member AYSO soccer program. But think about the children, all the children. Think about their right to exercise and physical fitness in their wealthy Westside community. In the classroom and on television they learn about the importance of exercise, but a healthy AYSO soccer program may close down because the fields are closed to them. Please consider how to offer field space as equitably as possible according to the numbers of children that can use it.
