I worries me that the athletic practice needs of the AYSO kids has been impacted so badly. I am sure that a satisfactory solution can be found through cooperation by both organizations.

We really need open spaces on the westside for kids to play.

My twins are now rising high school seniors who played AYSAO u6-all stars and still coach AYSO! They give back to the community because they realize and verbalize that their years in AYSO were some of the happiest times of their lives. They have friends from schools all over the westside of Los Angeles and Malibu because of their varied AYSO teams. ALL their friends agree that there exists a special bond between kids who have played together since they were 5!! I distinctly remember a U10 play off game at Revere- in the pouring rain and muddy field. Kids had a blast! No one remembers who won or lost- rather jumping around in the big muddy pools with their friends from both teams- that's what memory remains strong.It is a shame that Revere cannot help AYSO share field space with the club team. Club dues are VERY EXPENSIVE- and only available to a selex=ct few who can afford it. Revere is cutting out the majority of community kids whose parents can't pay the high price tag of club admission. This seems so counter to the ideals of a public school who serves a multi faceted community- not just the richest in the neighborhood. I really pray that Revere and LAUSD sees the inherent value and worth in seeing ALL children in our community- not just the privileged elite.
