With parkour being a sport that has become more commonly known - few places are available to train and teach at. Non-Parkour members of the public view it as a dangerous sport, this will allow for the dangers to be minimised with a park specific to training and development, in a safer environment.
There's been so many people messaging into us, at West Coast Shift, and the group that we work with, Ayrshire Freerun, to try and get parkour classes into Ayrshire. With this park, we can build a big community, start lots of classes, work towards reaching out to more people in the North, East and South Ayrshire areas.
If you've ever seen a parkour video, or the things that we train, there are so many Health benefits with parkour. Keeping kids active through play, Teenagers make use of the park for less malicious activity, Adults can come and use the Park too! Learn more parkour, train harder parkour, play with parkour.
This would give practitioners an area to improve their skills without causing undue stress to the general public.

I have been busy meeting with local council representatives to show them exactly why dedicated space is vital for our community. It is clear that the lack of a proper training ground is holding back so many young people who just need a safe place to move.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that Ayrshire is ready for a dedicated space where we can finally train safely. It feels incredible to know so many of you believe in the community we are building together.

I would love to see a parkour park in Ayrshire it would really open up the possibility of the sport in the area and get more younger generation interested , as a person interested in parkour there are not many areas to do parkour at my level so this would be a great oppurtunity to advance my skill in the sport
Parkour is a professional sport , it keeps u very active and fit and is enjoyable X my both son s attend , xx couldn't ask for a better team X it's like a big family
How positively a population interacts with there immediate environment has a direct effect on its health and social cohesion. Introducing new cross generational methods of play such as the introduction of a Parkour park is a valuable tool for achieving those aims.
I feel this sort of thing opens the sport up to new people and makes more people understand we are here to train and have fun not the negative side that some see/feel.
Far to often we use competition instead of self discipline. Basic park do not provide enough options and links between. We are told to sit and swing. Sit and slide. Fearing that climbing is dangerous. We are capable of climbing and more if we are given a chance for natural development.
I would love for this to be an opportunity for me, I hope it comes to life
Our Grandson would love this, we stay in Prestwick

Best thing me and my kids started. Both from a fun side and fitness. This wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the Coatbridge parkour park in north Lanarkshire. The more parks like this the better
