I am happy to sign your petition! As a parent of a young adult who was born missing his lower right arm I agree there is a great need to raise awareness of all that our children can and have overcome. As well as the amazing abilities this population of individuals has. Be it learning to tie a shoe with only one hand, to riding bikes, or to winning Gold and Bronze medals in the 2018 Paralympic Games... I always knew my son was capable of overcoming life's challenges. Having April as National Limb Difference Awareness Month gives us parents, family memebers and friends a platform for helping others see what our kids CAN do instead of the preconceived notions of what they cannot do just because others think they aren't capable!

It's really important that people become educated and aware about people with limb differences and not get caught up in misconceptions.

That's awsome. I have a daughter who's 1 1/2 years old and she also was born with amniotic band syndrome and was effected on her right hand she's missing fingers and what's left of them are webbed and her feet are also effected so our first year has been amazing and challenging, she's had 3 surgeries and will go for more. But at this moment she's out true miracle baby and amazes me In do many different things she does.

I am one of the people with a limb difference, mine is called Amniotic Band Syndrome! This is where the womb is made up of several amniotic bands that stretch as the baby grows like rubber bands, in ABS one of those bands snap and floats like a noodle with the fetus eventually the baby will get tangled with the band, In my situation, it got tangled with my right hand. I am missing the tops of my fingers on my right hand and the fingers I have stop at the knuckles. I consider myself VERY LUCKY! Usually the bands get your whole arm or both hands or one side 1 hand and 1 foot, so I did get very lucky and m excited to see how much awareness we can bring to the public about people like me! Thank you Jennifer for your kindness and your guidance and help making people aware! I love you guys so much and am proud to be a part of this wonderful organization!
