Our bill nearly doubled in one month. We did not more then double our usage in one month after months of solid consistency with gradual increases for weather.

My bill was outrageous this month!!! It's ridiculous!!!!! Mr. Ceo of avista, try making minimum wage for a month and u try and pay ur enormous electricity bill!!! Must be nice making 72,000 a week!!!!!

They should not be able to raise prices at will. The price of fuel is dropping considerably, so that should not be the issue. I believe they're passing on the cost of the storm repairs.

My bill after the power outage in November.. (we had no power for a week) ..My bill was over 200$...I figure they were trying to make up for the money they lost during the outage....If I got switch to Inland I would do it in New York minute,..but Avista knows they have you by the balls!!!...CROOKS

My house was burnt up on November 10th 2015 the power was shut off until the 16th and the storm was on the 17th and in my neighborhood nobody had power back for a week and a half. I just received a bill for November to December for $504 and there is nobody in the house, no appliances running, and the heat is set at 50 degrees..they also charged me another $530 for January and again not one person in the house not one appliance running and the heat still set at 50 degrees. .I have called and got no where with Avista. I am disgusted with this whole situation and that I have no other choices for utilities in the spokane area. Scott Morris should only make maybe $250,000/yr and the rest of his astronomical income should be giving back to the people he STOLE IT FROM! I am going to call the utilities commission and file a grievance and if possible I would like to start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! I AM IN AWE AT THIS WHOLE SITUATION!

With the amount residents pay avista, they had enough researved budget to Handel the outages. That's what we pay for monthly. They claim they don't! If they would stop giving themselves raises maybe they would of had enough money to cover the emergency, instead of again passing it on to their clients!

My total bill was over $700! This included a leftover amount from December of $200 that I couldn't afford because Decembers bill was over $400 so I had to set an arrangement agreement with no honest idea if I would be able to keep it. However there is little option given regardless of this.
I am a mother of three, and the other adult in the home is a full time student so I have the only income coming in. Obviously this puts a huge burden on our family when our rent is less than are electricity, and we even made improvements this fall and had new Windows installed. Might I add we live in a rural area so we do not have as many programs available as Spokane does. Also even if we did use the one program given it is on a first come first serve basis, and only available by donations of others, and can only be used once In a year. I was given an estimation on how much they could help with and they said the max was $300 that is only a little over half of one of my bills.... There is approximately 4 high billed months. Although the help is greatly appreciated if used unfortunately it only makes a small dent in the debt you can occur with avista lately, and as I said one time only hand out until the following winter! Please help by signing this petition! Thanks for the rant. God bless

I completelyrics agree. They had ti pay employees millions on in overtime after the windstorms and now our bills are higher. How can they be higher when we didn't even have power for 8 days?
