Your government has a great opportunity here to do sometihing positive regarding the issues people with autism, and their families, face on a daily basis. What is needed now is a residential facility for autistic adults and funding mental health services as outlined in this petition. You can make New Brunswick a province where no one is left out... no one.

People dealing with Autism need special services provided just like those who are mentally challenged or suffer from any type of mental illness or disability. We need to ensure that everyone lives a lquality life and is able to reach their full potential.

Mother of 4 children, now 20 year old adults. 3 of them with autism. I home schooled all my children. 3 got their GED's, 3 of them have college degrees. The so called "help" and "support" from government for those affected by autism, is an absolute heart breaking mess and the so called "support" is a sham ( the great pretenders who are paid to pretend they have resources to help when all they do at best, is tell you that UNFORTUNATELY, they can't help you in a meaningful way. That is unacceptably appalling!.

Mental Health looked after my daughter until the age of 18 as she was diagnosed with dysthemic disorder, or prolong depression. Now they refuse to help her because she has Aspergers syndrome! She is now an adult working or trying to work with depression not being looked after because she is on the spectrum!

The facility for people with autism who are not going to be able to look after themselfs is an excellent idea. My youngest boy is going to need something like this.

We desperatly need a network of group homes for severly autistic adults.
