Correctional services should not only promote rehabilitation, but they should encourage the improvement of an individual that will lead to a different option to prison. By doing this, it would lift the weight of the incarceration system in Australia, and provide offenders with a more personalised and purposeful rehabilitation.
Locking them up forever isnt working. We need real programs that actually help people change so they dont end up back in the system. Its just costing us all way too much money to keep doing the same thing.
