This proposed increase is outrageous!

How can you justify this change by saying that you wish to bring the cat fees in line with dog fees? Are you trying to say that a cat would eat the same as a Great Dane? Or even a Labrador? These fees are blatant money grabbing and implementing them so quickly will put great strain on people who have already budgeted for the moving costs.

Why should only very well off people be able to take their much loved pet with them? The increase in let's being left at rescue centres in migrants' home countries will dramatically increase. What justification could there be for this? Disgusting.

Please, please don't put this price increase on. You will be restricting so many people and affecting so many lives. How can this be justified - as a Vet myself I can appreciate the costs involved for the care and 'overseeing' of these animals but this is extortionate

This will only serve to deter owners from bringing their pets (who are family) back with them!

Rediculous increasing the prices, there's no need for it

We are in the same position with our cat. My wife will be devestated when she hears this as it had just become 'cost-effective' with the reduction to 10 days.

blatant abuse of power by Govt dept. A 4* hotel would cost less

So sad they are considering this.

I agree, 149 AUD per day is an unfairly high charge for a single pet in quarantine in Australia and this needs to be urgently rethought

You have to be joking! It's expensive enough as it is just now. If they hike the cost up further, then many folk will not be able to afford to bring their pets with them and will be forced to leave them behind.

Very unfair

Please do not do this - we want to bring our dog but this is so much money to ask - too much.

This seems totally unreasonable, even though one can accept considerations in this regard at a variety of levels. A more just manner would be to take in to account the financial, practical and realistic circumstances of those concerned, as well as pastoral and pet friendly considerations of all parties in specific circumstances.

This is wrong! Why the need to increase by such a large amount?
