No tax increases !

With rising prices on everything from rent to groceries, child care and gas, we all have to spend our money wisely. We need Austin City Hall to do the same. We simply cannot afford another increase in our property tax bills. Property tax increases make Austin less affordable, contributing to increases in rent and making home ownership more unattainable for many.

Shalom Mayor Stop this mishagas with property tax and fee increases.

This has gotten to be greed all wrapped around the city council. You are the servants of the citizens and you are doing a horrible job making it impossible for middle and low income citizens to live in this city. You made it into a rat hole when it once was a beautiful city with caring people. The hate spews out in you for your disregard for most ordinary workers when you pamper yourselves as bought and dishonest. You will reap what you've sown.

This is not a proper time for the additional spending proposed under this proposed budget. We need better use of current spending and looking at non budget increases for funding essential services with the current state of our national and state funding.

Enough is enough! Wages are simply not rising as fast as the cost of living and Austinites cannot afford higher taxes!

Please stop the out-of-control spending.

City needs to stop the increases in spending (i.e. giving away $1.0 million for free) instead of burdening residents with increases in taxes and fees.

City of Austin development fees and processes are already a major cause of lack of affordability in Austin; increasing taxes and fees only makes living here even less affordable for all, particularly those on fixed incomes. Council should refuse to raise taxes and fees now, while inflation is out of control. There is a lot of fat in the current budget and eliminating it could put resources where really needed.

No more property tax increases!

Our City Government is way out of line with proposed taxes in an economy that is at an inflation rate of 8-9% already. We need a new leadership with Jennifer Virdin and a a new City Manager to support her.

Please consider the working citizen. I will likely be forced out of my home, which I’ve lived in for 20 years because of increasing costs to maintain my home & live in the city.

My husband and I are both retired and are on a fixed income - we cannot afford another tax increase.

No tax increases!

We cannot continue this pace of taxation and reckless pet-project spending. I moved to Austin 20+ years ago for the great quality of life and security for my family. The Mayor and City Council's careless spending caused this mess; and taxing more is not the remedy. Enough already!
