I don't agree with being forced into the Union with no vote.

We should be given the right to at least discuss, yet were not consulted.

They say No Salary cuts due to this, however over all take home pay will go down. The point we wil now have added costs to pay for benfits so our take home pay will drop. Basic calculation show approx. $3,000 in lost benfits or extra cost just to JOIN the Union,.

The significant decrease in benefits compared to what we have now is a joke. Between the union dues, and significant decrease in benefits, what is in it for us?

There was also an attempt at inclusion in the former Calgary Health Region upon region formation which was also rejected.

In a free country, how is it that an individual is not given a right to make a choice.

Who is acting on our behalf? I am wondering if we need a lawyer to speak on our behalf?

it is wrong that we could be forced to join a union, with no choice, no vote, no say. I have worked in Alberta's health care system / information technology since the early 90's, we have always been out-of-scope.

Had AUPE approached IT employees directly with clear, understandable terms and conditions (advantages?) of membership in their union I might have entertained the notion but having it foisted on us in this way is not acceptable. I vote for informed choice.

I do not appreciate this choice being forced on our staff. Many of us with existing conditions use our benefits to the full extent because it is needed. The AUPE benefits will have a significant impact on our overall healthcare as employees
