As you know, the $1.98 million Philadelphia Activites Fund lacks proper oversight in its grants to local community-service groups. As shown in the Philadelphia City Paper article, "One Man Show," PAF is controlled by city councilmembers and may be funding groups lacking legitimate non-profit status and doing so without regard for grantees' political ties. The fund as it is currently administered is rife with opportunities for cronyism and kickbacks. You have stated your organization will conduct an audit as staffing permits. We the undersigned, as taxpaying citizens of Philadelphia, ask that you proceed with an immediate and thorough audit of the fund. Thank you.
