I oppose the rezoning and variance requests. The opportunity to have made the right choices and thereby garner the neighborhood’s support has long passed.

Did you ever think that you couldn't get permission to break a rule (or law), so you figured it was easier to break it and ask forgiveness later and expect everyone would forget about your bad behavior? Sounds like that's what is happening here. Illegal behavior is still illegal and shouldn't be made legal for any reason. And - to reply to a comment on file with the County about how Dan's business is so crucial for the area... In one hour, I was able to have fruitful discussions with 5 dredging companies that would do work on the Whitefish Chain. Competition rules the market...

Just as in my opposition to the Driftwood Redevelopment project, I am opposed to granting any variences that are not consistent with laws and rules in place to protect the environment and the Whitefish Chain Of Lakes. The chain is already under tremendous pressure and I would expect those in charge of protecting our lakes to do so. Please deny Dan Leagjeld his requested variences and re-zoning. Thanks , Bob Brauer Upper Whitefish

I am opposed to rezoning any part of Lower Hay for commercial use. It would have a, permanent and long-lasting, negative impact on the lake and wildlife.

We feel that more commercial development will negatively affect the lakes. Already zebra mussels are present and it is probably a matter of time for other AIS will invade. These are not brought in by residents but transient users. Lake traffic will increase and our observations confirm that transient users are the ones who also abuse the waters.

Not good for the water quality, to many docks bring to many boats

If Dan wanted to use this property for commercial use the property should not have been rezoned in the first place. Now lot 6 is privately owned and they've tried to rezone 1-5 and not 6-8? I think the time has passed for commercial use of this property and it needs to be left as is, shoreland.

I am against this proposed rezoning. Also the appropriate authorities should be enforcing the laws on the books. Fines, cease and desist order(s) etc.
