Attention Lower Hay Lake and Whitefish Chain Property Owners

I have been visiting Hay Lakes for 20+ years and believe it would be detrimental to the area to rezone it.

Preserve the shoreline. Prevent the rezone.

I am opposed to rezoning this property as commercial.

Keep the lake non-commercial

I am opposed to the proposed rezoning due to the negative effects on the local Upper Whitefish waterways, wetlands, local residential areas, public roadways. This change would fundamentally alter the natural peace, privacy and water and woodlands state afforded by residential use only use and zoning for this area established decades ago and not adaptable to a commercial use environment.

I stand against the rezoning and variances to make the area commercial. It would jeopardize the environment and natural resources of the Whitefish Chain.

Enough with commercialization!

Don’t rezone Driftwood Resorts!!

We live on Rush Lake and have been active in preserving shoreline,etc. It’s frustrating to those of us who have worked for water quality and shore land preservation to repeatedly see examples of regulatory agencies making exceptions for businesses, especially when said businesses have broken the rules and ask for exceptions after the fact. We are all affected by one individual degrading a portion of our precious lakes. Everyone needs to understand that whether we are individuals or businesses, the quality of the Lakes is the reason we are here. Breaking zoning rules or constantly making exceptions to them amount to the same thing: undermining our hard work to preserve lake quality. We oppose the variance and rezoning requests for these reasons

We live on Lower Whitefish Lake and are strongly opposed to the requested changes at Driftwood Resort, due to water quality effects and overcrowding of the lake by PUDs.

Rezoning for Driftwood Project is a BIG NO. The damaging effect is huge!!!

We are opposed to the variance and rezoning requests. They will have a negative impact on the quality of the lakes and the surrounding neighbors.

We are opposed to this over-development because it will endanger the waters of Whitefish Lake and and alters wetlands.

I stand against the proposed variances and zoning changes.

I am opposed to the approval of these variances and rezoning. In view of the failure of the Driftwood Resort and Lodge to obtain its rezoning, this appears to be along the same lines - except this applicant appears to have knowingly changed the use of the subject property to Shoreland District, fully aware they were continuing commercial operations for years. Was this to avoid paying taxes on Waterfront Commercial use for their businesses? I hope this has been part of the consideration, besides the location of too many docks and a dredging business on shoreland property.

When is the County going to start actively trying to improve the quality of our lakes, instead of allowing one development after another, each of which continues the degradation that is rapidly making affecting our quality of living. I'm opposed to the Leagjeld proposal. Why can't these people keep the land zoned as it is, and build homes like everyone else around them?
