Skateparks are a needed facility within the community and help keep people fit, out of trouble, improves mental health, give a sense of community and teaches valuable life lessons. It’s a shame the are being neglected even after becoming an Olympic sport

I feel we need a skatepark in atherstone as the ones that are in the surrounding areas are too far to get too or are practically falling apart

I’m from Nuneaton and would love another local to ride. Atherstone is incomplete without a skatepark

Recreational sport and freedom of expression are vital. In this day and age of Instagram influencers and high expectations there is nothing more liberating than using your free time to exercise and progress at your own pace with no rules other than practicing etiquette and patience - many social skills can be refined at a skatepark too. In a different world ( non Corona ) a skate park can be a social hub and although some endeavour to vandalise and destroy for others it’s a place to cherish and create some of the best friendships. Give it a think. It can bring good tourism and could eventually be something a town or city is know for.
