I'm concerned about where people Will park causing more problems, and what about families that have younger children that may not be able to walk to the park as easily.

The park is a vital community resource for Ampthill and the surrounding villages for all people of all ages, fresh air and exercise should not be charged for as the Parkwas given to the people for their use.

I live not far from Ampthill and have been a regular visitor to the park for about 30 years with our children when younger and walking our dogs. It is the safest location for miles with no bikes and wide open spaces where children can play safely and dogs can harmlessly run free.
To charge non-residents of Ampthill to use the park for children to play, for healthy exercise, dog walking, or just sitting enjoying the views and tranquility, and maybe reminiscing about happy times, is really quite outrageous. I know of no other councils that charge non-residents who use their parks for unpaid health and leisure.
Wherever we live, we all pay council tax to fund the upkeep of our local parks. Is it fair for some people to pay twice?

This will clog up the streets of Ampthill as people try to find alternative parking. Plus should people have to pay to go for a walk ? NO...

People would then park at the very few spaces left around the town.

Allow people to use the countryside and parks freely, one of the few simple pleasures left to us. It is not a money making venture.

This is an outrage, the Park is a Nationally important historical site, just because it happens to be in Ampthill doesn't mean that the Council can now dictate what happens here and charge people for an outdoor space. If you must do something how about Donation boxes like they have a Marston Vale Forest Centre. Ampthill Park is an open space for everybody to enjoy not just those that can afford to pay parking. If you live in Ampthill you can walk there, if not why shouldn't you be able to visit for free as it has been for hundreds of years. Stop wasting money destroying the trees in the woods and charging people for fresh air. We are supposed to be able to appreciate nature, not pay for it. Outrageous.

Many walking groups including mine use Ampthill Park regularly and the Hub afterwards. It would be very sad if people were deterred from using it.

Part of our heritage, the park is for everyone's benefit and should remain free.
