This is an attack on both hard working professionals and on the students they will still teach to the best of their abilities. Shame.

I echo what other respected writing studies scholars have said in the petition comments: *ALL* research and national standards for teaching writing, and especially teaching first-year writing (which most of the NTTs at ASU are doing almost exclusively) shows that teaching more than 50 students per semester is physically impossible, nevermind the toll is takes on instructors psychologically as they *attempt* to actually teach more than that. Also inherent in this unethical mandate is that someone else has to take over NTTs service loads. Who shall do *that* now-unpaid work as well?
