If you want quality education, you have to give professors time to grade, research, and interact with students. For comp classes, 5/5 strips faculty of being able to teach and engage meaningfully and still research and have a life.

This move to 5/5 will have a negative effect on student learning, especially those students who in the first year or two at ASU need strong interaction with our highly skilled faculty. Student costs go up, which every teacher keeps hearing about in class, but the quality of our work will take a hit. This move is counterproductive in many, many ways.

I would certainly not support such a move for our NTT writing instructors at my university. Show respect for these faculty who are crucial to your institution.

To add to the important points that have already been said, these kinds of policies are not just fundamentally unfair, they are typically very bad management as well. The amount of "money" that will actually be "saved" will be shockingly little when factored against the literal and emotional damage that will result. In order to save X, the institution is willing to sacrifice Y, where the administration will highly overestimate the value of X and highly underestimate Y. Attach an honest dollar amount to the amount saved (X), then consider all of the damage done to undergraduate education at ASU (Y), and then think of all the ways that the same dollar amount (X) is being spent/wasted elsewhere . . . and the emperor has no clothes.
It's madness. And it's bad for everyone, including the citizens and tax payers of Arizona who are not getting what they have paid for, namely, excellence in undergraduate instruction.
