We think that making students have to go through the whole process of assessments which will not contribute towards their IGCSE grades is highly unfair because they will be experiencing unnecessary stress.

The stress levels for students are mounting while the board refuses to acknowledge the weight of these empty assessments. I am currently drafting a formal letter to the department head to demand a clear explanation for this policy. Text three of your classmates right now and tell them to add their names to this list.

These exams serve no purpose and our time would be better served preparing for the long two years that await us. In many of my classes during online learning, we have not been able to achieve the same level of work done as prior. This has resulted in myself personally feeling very stressed for the ‘assessments’ as I do not feel prepared and do not feel like I have properly been taught some of the syllabus. It is for his reason why I feel like the ‘assessments’ should be cancelled.
There’s just no point of giving us internal exams when A) It is online and we don’t understand too well how online exams work B) There is not much time left to revise C) Extra stress, counts to GPA for some people D) Cheating problem E) Completely unnecessary anyways
I would have done them had they not added a "mini EE". Don't expect people to revise during the Extended essay writing time, and if you wanted us to revise before, maybe tell us so before the 2 week long holidays began. And if you didn't, I have no idea how you expect any student in this school to revise two years worth of content in the space of a two weeks. All of this is an obvious hint that people are going to cheat, there's no avoiding that.
The reasoning behind these exams... sorry, “assessments”... is to consolidate knowledge yet La Chat totally ignores the fact that with online exams, there will be those who cheat and therefore not study properly. Result = very little consolidation and completely unnecessary exams!
i am currently an ib courses student and if i were to do a mini practice ee i wouldn’t have been happy so i understand, many students don’t fit the criteria or package for ib diploma so it doesn’t make sense why the school is forcing them to do this.
I would have done these exams if it wasn’t for the mini extended essay. We are all stressed about these “assessments” and have no time to revise a two year course for 8 subjects. The syllabus hasn’t been cut down for the exams, some teachers haven’t taught us well enough to take these exams and we have no time to teach ourselves the missing parts of what we haven’t gone over. These assessments are thought to be a “learning experience” but it will go into our GPA which is important for students who want to attend North American universities. Some students are anxious to return to school on June 8th as we might catch the virus and transfer it to our parents who could be at risk. There are other things to worry about other than exams who won’t be sent to Cambridge for proof and count as part of our GPA which will go down if we do not have time to study nor a good studying environment.
These “assessments” are useless and are only stressful for students. Of course the school will rely on their “academic honesty” and cameras to definitely ensure no cheating will be happening. This is completely useless and isn’t proper supervision of students to make sure they are not cheating. Furthermore I would like to add that we have essentially no time to revise (2 weeks for 2 years of learning) because of EE work.

It is not going to be helpful to anyone and there’s also an extra stress in this time where we are all dealing with a lot we also do not have a huge amount of time to study in entire years worth of content in each subject
