As a student who regularly eats at the dining hall, I often find myself not eating due to getting terrible food that often makes me sick. I have pictures of VERY moldy pastries that have been put out for students to eat at marketplace. This is unacceptable.

There needs to be more fresh foods and vegetarian options that are not completely soy.

As a student, I wholeheartedly agree. We pay more than $24,000 per year, which is a lot for instate tuition, so we sure as heck deserve to have quality food. For such a well-respected school, this is honestly embarrassing.

Can we please list all the ingredients in the food? I have non-standard allergies and I don't appreciate almost poisoning myself all the time

As the parent of a freshman we have been very disheartened at the limited hours and limited opportunities to use swipes. Our older child attended VCU and the options and hours were far superior. Daughter is pescatarian and choices in Sadler and marketplace are so limited. Commons is farther for her to go. She has an evening class which really limits dining options. When we emailed asking about changing her meal plan to include fewer swipes and more dollars the cost to change was astronomical And the reply we received was very much a form response despite the time that my daughter took to expressing her concerns. We were very disappointed. You can do better.

A gallon of whole milk is around 2,000 calories. It costs approximately $4.60 at Wawa. My meal swipes are valued at $8 at Marketplace, which delivers far fewer calories and a less pleasing consumption experience. If bovine fluids are more satisfying than real food, there is trouble afoot. Talk to the Aramark people instead of the Sodexo guys, they've got us by the digestive tracts.

The food is often undercooked and has little to no seasoning. There is not much variety at simple servings, which often gets boring as someone with allergies who can only eat at that station. I would recommend regularly having GF desserts out for students and introducing a wider variety of meals at simple servings, as well as serving breakfast at that station too.

While rare chicken may be indeed be succulent , and random completely raw vegetables are a crunchy surprise, I would prefer that William and Mary implement a plan to cook the food going forward. This may be done through the installation of an oven perhaps? even boiled? really just cooked food would be nice!

My son has been served frozen French fries and raw chicken on more than one occasion
And the quality of the meat and food is terrible. Also no regular butter, runny inedible eggs and bread/rolls that are hard as a rock. This shouldn’t be…

As the parent of an out-of-state student with food sensitivities, I find this particularly unacceptable for the amount we pay.

W&M parent '21 and '24. The food at W&M needs to be improved. The students deserve better. The food at several other VA schools is so much better - why is W&M falling short?

With the over $1B endowment money you’d think W&M would take better care of their student body who turn into those donors they rely!
