Ask DOPL to Protect All Utah Teens

Counselors can be very helpful. Let them do their jobs and let people keep the freedoms we have fought so hard to have in the first place.

What the hell is wrong with people?!

Please allow children to be children and to be able to get help wherever they and their parents want. Stop trying to force your dogma on the people.

Please protect our values and protect our youth and children from therapy limited by political activists.

Don't limit the choices available to children and their parents.

Kids are still growing and are fully of hormones, they can’t be trusted to make this decision and transition shouldn’t be forced on them

Ass long as any part of same sex attraction is voluntary, including behavior, it is a violation of agency to deny free speech to those who wish to receive or give counsel on the subject.

Please allow the freedom of choice for all teens and children.

Counselors and therapists should be able to talk about anything with their client, as long as it promotes healthy and moral behavior

It is so important that Utah's teenage children have the freedom to choose for themselves!

"Though my school psychologist didn’t know it, between kindergarten and first grade my brother and I had been abducted by two men and taken to a public restroom. I was brutally sexually assaulted and my brother was not. In my child’s mind, I thought that being a boy would prevent me from ever being hurt the way those men hurt me. Not my mother, not my school teacher, not my school psychologist knew that my insistence that I was a boy was based upon my desire to keep my body from being sexually violated again. It took years of therapy before I understood the connection. If therapists were not allowed to question my gender identity, I never would have made the connection. I never would have understood that my hatred of my female body was the result of it being violently violated. I never would have realized that my transgender identity was a coping mechanism. I have talked to dozens of other women with similar stories." This story says it all... Though I too must add... How can gender stereotypes be a social construct (sensitive boys aren't manly, to boys aren't feminine), yet we have to affirm some ones desire to become that gender stereotype? It is damaging, inconsistent, and unscientific for a child to make an extreme decision with their body, when their desire may be based on on obsession with a gender stereotype. Wouldn't it be so much more helpful to allow room for them to express their gender outside of the social construct of gender?

When considering the real lives of our youth, please do not block forms of treatment. There isn't only one way to treat our youth. We need to protect all, and not provide only trendy treatments.

I am strongly opposed to the Psychology Licensing Act Rule! PLEASE do not take away our God-given right to seek counsel and help for our own children and help them make critical, life-altering decisions. A select few should not be allowed to decide what's right for all because in doing as this bill proposes it will strip away our parental right and religious freedom in helping our children critical decisions.

I think people should be allowed to openly discuss things with their therapist.

This rule change is unconstitutional, and must be reversed.

Healthcare should be at the direction of the patient, not a political group. Please do not impose political rules on those who are responsible to their patients.

Please protect the rights of parents!
